Comparison
Cafeity vs Loopy Loyalty
Loopy Loyalty is the best-known digital stamp card product, and it is a good one. Both it and Cafeity issue Apple Wallet and Google Wallet cards, both scan with a phone, and neither asks your customers to install anything. The difference is almost entirely in how you are charged as you grow, and in what happens on the day you open a fourth café. Prices below were read from loopyloyalty.com in August 2026 — check them before acting on them.
Fixed plans vs a per-location rate
Loopy sells three plans — 1, 3 or 10 locations. Cafeity charges $25 for your first café and $15 for every one after, with no tiers to cross.
The fourth café
A fourth site takes Loopy from Growth at $69 to Ultimate at $95. On Cafeity a fourth site is $60. That gap is the whole argument.
Staff and card designs
Loopy caps sub-users per plan — 3, 10 and 50 — and card designs at 1, 3 and 10. Cafeity does not meter staff logins or designs.
Where Loopy is ahead
A 15-day trial with no card required, against our 14 days that does ask for one. They are also the older product with the longer track record.
What the two products actually share
Both put a real pass in Apple Wallet and Google Wallet rather than asking a customer to download an app, and in both the card updates itself after a stamp. Both enrol customers from a QR code at the counter, both give staff a scanner that works on the phone already in their pocket, and both let you export your customer list. If you are choosing between them on whether the core idea works, you are choosing on a distinction that does not exist. Pick on price shape, on limits, and on which company you would rather email when something breaks.
Where the pricing diverges
At one café the two are the same money: $25 a month either way. At three, Loopy is $69 and Cafeity is $55. At ten, Loopy is $95 and Cafeity is $90 — close enough not to matter. The real difference is between the tiers. Loopy prices in steps, so a fourth, fifth or sixth café all cost the same $95 as a tenth, and a fourth café costs you the whole jump from Growth to Ultimate. Cafeity prices per location, so four cafés is $60 and six is $70. If you will only ever run one site, the two are equivalent and you should choose on something else.
The limits that are easy to miss
Sub-users are capped on every Loopy plan: three on Starter, ten on Growth, fifty on Ultimate. A single café with high turnover and a dozen part-time baristas can exhaust Starter without opening a second site. Card designs are capped the same way — one on Starter — which matters if you want a different card for your roastery and your kiosk. Cafeity meters one thing only, the number of locations, because that is the only number that tracks what running the service costs us. Staff, customers, stamps, cards and designs are not counted.
Where Loopy Loyalty is the better choice
If you want to try a product without handing over a card, Loopy gives you fifteen days without one and we ask for card details at signup — nothing is charged for fourteen days, but that is not the same as not being asked. Their annual discount is 20% against our 17%. And they have been doing this for years longer, with the customer base and the accumulated corner cases that implies. If a long track record is what you are buying, buy it.
How to check this page is still true
Open loopyloyalty.com/pricing and read the three numbers. We pin their published prices next to our own in the code that renders this page, so if their pricing moves and ours has not been updated, this comparison is wrong and should not be trusted until it is. That is the honest hazard of any page comparing two live products, and it is worth saying out loud rather than dating the page in small print.
Common questions
- Can I move my customers from Loopy Loyalty to Cafeity?
- You can export your customer list from Loopy and we can import it, so your balances come with you. The wallet passes themselves cannot transfer — a pass is signed by the business that issued it — so customers re-add their card once. In practice that is a QR code on the counter for a fortnight.
- Is Cafeity cheaper than Loopy Loyalty?
- At one location they cost the same, $25 a month. Between two and nine locations Cafeity is cheaper, and the widest gap is at four to six sites where Loopy has moved you onto its $95 plan and we are still charging $60 to $70. At ten the two are within $5 of each other.
- Do both work without a customer app?
- Yes. Both issue passes to Apple Wallet and Google Wallet, which are already on the phone. Neither requires a download, an account or a password, and this is not a point of difference between them.
- What happens if I outgrow ten locations?
- Loopy publishes plans up to ten and you would need to talk to them beyond that. Cafeity keeps the same $15 per additional location indefinitely — twenty sites is $130 a month — so there is no renegotiation and no enterprise conversation.
