Digital stamp cards for cafés
The paper punch card works because everyone already understands it. The problem is everything around it: cards get lost, forgotten at home, photocopied, or handed back with a stamp the customer did not earn. A digital stamp card keeps the format and fixes the rest.
The card cannot be lost
It lives on the phone the customer is already holding when they pay. Nothing to carry, nothing to find at the bottom of a bag.
The card cannot be forged
Stamps are added by your staff, on your account, and recorded on the server. A customer cannot add a stamp to their own card.
A full card stays full
When the tenth stamp lands, the card reads 10/10 and the reward is unlocked. It only resets when your staff redeem it — so nobody loses a reward to a mistimed scan.

Nine stamps this quarter, seven for a new pastry launch. Existing customers keep the progress they have already collected.
How a digital stamp card works
You choose how many stamps earn a reward and what the reward is. We generate a branded card, a QR code for your counter, and a scanner for your staff. A customer scans the QR once, enters their name, and the card is on their phone. From then on they show the card, your barista scans it, and a stamp is added.
What happens at the counter
Your barista opens the scanner on any phone or tablet, points it at the customer’s code, and taps Add stamp. The whole interaction is about two seconds and does not touch your till. When a customer has a reward waiting, the scanner shows a Redeem button instead of making staff remember.
Why the maths matters
A stamp card is a discount you pay for in advance of loyalty you have not earned yet. Nine-and-one is roughly a ten per cent discount on the tenth visit, spread across a customer who was going to come back anyway. The reason it still works is frequency: the card gives someone a reason to choose you over the shop across the road on the days they are indifferent.
Common questions
- Do customers need to download an app?
- No. They scan a QR code and the card opens on their phone. There is nothing to install and no account to create.
- Can I change how many stamps are needed later?
- Yes. Existing members keep the stamps they have already collected, and the new target applies from their next stamp. Nobody loses progress and no earned reward is revoked.
- What stops someone stamping their own card?
- Stamps can only be added by a signed-in staff account through the scanner. The customer’s card is a display of a balance held on our server; nothing on their phone can change it.
