Loyalty program for bakeries

Bakeries run two businesses at once: a weekday trade of coffee and a pastry on the way to work, and a weekend trade of families buying a box of things. A loyalty card that only understands one of them leaves money on the table.

Reward visits, not baskets

A visit card treats the weekday regular and the weekend family fairly without you pricing every item.

A daily cap if you need one

Stop one purchase becoming four stamps across a busy Saturday counter.

Seasonal rewards

Change the reward for a launch or a holiday without resetting anyone’s progress.

Nothing to print again

No reordering punch cards, no stamp that walks off in an apron pocket.

Visit cards versus stamp cards

A stamp per item works when everyone buys the same thing. In a bakery they do not. A visit card — one stamp per visit regardless of what was bought — is usually the fairer and simpler option, and it steers customers towards frequency, which is the behaviour you actually want.

What to make the reward

Pick something with a good margin that people would not normally order. A free coffee with any purchase works because it costs you pennies and brings someone in for a pastry. A free loaf is expensive and attracts customers who only appear when it is free.

Common questions

Can I limit stamps to one per customer per day?
Yes. Set a daily cap per customer and the server refuses anything beyond it, so it holds even on a chaotic Saturday.
Can I run a different reward at Christmas?
Yes. Change the reward whenever you like — existing members keep the progress they have already collected.
